Who developed this program?
This course was developed by a forensic criminalist and court-recognized expert in alcohol testing technology, not by a monitoring agency or device manufacturer. With over 40 years of experience in forensic science, impaired driving investigations, and expert witness testimony, myCAMprogram was created to close a critical gap: Most people in CAM programs are never taught how the devices work or how to protect themselves from accidental violations.
Why it matters:
CAM technology can be unforgiving. A simple mistake — like using the wrong mouthwash, missing a test window, or having an undiagnosed medical condition — can lead to false positives, and serious consequences.
This program gives you clear, science-based information so you can avoid those risks and move forward with confidence.
What this program is NOT:
It is very important to be absolutely clear:
- This course does not replace your official monitoring program.
- It is not a substitute for medical, legal, or supervisory guidance.
- THE PROGRAM WILL NOT PREVENT FALSE POSITIVE READINGS, OR DATA MISINTERPRETATION.
This program does NOT:
- Override, alter, or change your court conditions or terms of probation
- Guarantee compliance or success in legal matters
- Offer medical advice or diagnosis
- Provide legal representation or defense strategy
- Teach ways to cheat, disable, or manipulate your monitoring device
This is an educational resource only, meant to empower you with accurate, science-based information. Your responsibility is to follow your monitoring rules and legal requirements. This course helps you do that better — but it doesn’t change what you’re required to do.
A science-based neutral resource?
This program is entirely independent and impartial. It is not funded by any device manufacturer, monitoring agency, or government program. Everything here is based on established forensic science, public safety research, and real-world courtroom experience.
Let's be clear: The vast majority of alcohol monitoring programs and devices are reliable and successful. They offer the participant the opportunity to stay productive, maintain family ties, and steer clear of custodial punishment. Overall, Continuous Alcohol Monitoring devices work, and work well. But, they are not perfect (no technology is) and more often than not, it is the program participant who creates the situation resulting in a non-compliance allegation, often through lack of understanding of the issues involved. We've seen that in dozens of court cases. We are here to change that situation.
